Shikishima, a failed kamikaze pilot burdened by immense survivor's guilt, is trying to rebuild a life in the ruins of Tokyo when a mutated, terrifyingly powerful Godzilla emerges from the deep. This isn't the "hero" lizard of recent Hollywood flicks; this is a walking natural disaster that breathes pure nuclear malice. It’s a devastatingly human story about trauma and redemption that just happens to feature the most intimidating version of the King of the Monsters ever put on screen. THE PROS This is a 10/10 and earns its "Epic Status" because it remembers that the humans actually matter. The emotional core is a genuine belter; you’ll find yourself gripping your seat more for Shikishima’s redemption than the city-smashing.
