Overview

⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 9/10 THE SUMMARY Fresh off their honeymoon, Shrek and Fiona are summoned to the Kingdom of Far Far Away to meet the in-laws. The catch? King Harold and Queen Lillian aren’t exactly expecting a seven-foot ogre and a green bride. While Shrek struggles with royal life, the devious Fairy Godmother is plotting to seat her son, Prince Charming, on the throne. Toss in a swashbuckling feline assassin and a "Happily Ever After" potion that turns Shrek into a certified hunk, and you’ve got a sequel that takes the original’s magic and doubles down on everything. THE PROS This film is a win and a genuine belter that actually manages to outshine the original in many ways. It is a celebratory explosion of pop-culture satire, from the "Far Far Away" Hollywood sign to the Medieval "COPS" episode. The introduction of Puss in Boots is an absolute win; his "sad eyes" routine is a total belter that stole the show. Jennifer Saunders as the Fairy Godmother is a sincere masterpiece of voice acting, and her "Holding Out for a Hero" performance is arguably the greatest musical sequence in animation history.
