    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 8/10 THE SUMMARY Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Robert Pattinson) are the "it" couple of the intellectual scene—she’s a sharp bookstore clerk and he’s a rumpled British museum director. Their upcoming wedding looks perfect until a drunken "truth or dare" style dinner goes south. Challenged to reveal the worst thing they’ve ever done, Emma drops a nuclear-grade bombshell: as a teenager, she meticulously planned a school shooting, even bringing the gun to class before backing out at the last second. This revelation sends their wedding week into a tailspin of paranoia, cheating, and psychological warfare as Charlie realizes he doesn't know the woman he's about to marry at all. THE PROS Robert Pattinson is quality here, playing a "nice guy" whose mask slips into something much more frantic and unhinged as the week progresses. Zendaya is a winner, delivering a sincere, haunting performance as a woman who is "normal" now but haunted by a past version of herself. Directed by Kristoffer Borgli (who did 'Dream Scenario'), the film has an epic status level of discomfort—it’s a jet-black comedy that makes you laugh and wince at the same time. It’s an 8/10 because it tackles a taboo subject with punchy, cynical wit, especially in how it mocks "liberal empathy" when things get actually scary. Alana Haim and Mamoudou Athie provide quality support as the friends who "can't unhear" the secret, making the social friction feel agonizingly real. THE CONS It earns an 8/10 because the "discombobulated" structure, while creative, can make the first act feel slightly sluggish as it jumps between timelines. The mid-movie "cheating" subplot with Misha feels a bit like a damp squib, serving more as a plot device than a believable emotional beat for Charlie.
