    ⭐ Insomniacs Rating: 7/10 THE SUMMARY After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings—Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode—move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, in Matheson, Massachusetts. They soon discover the house is full of magical keys that grant them incredible abilities, like entering someone's mind or turning into a ghost. However, a devious demon is also hunting for the keys to open a door to another world. The kids have to balance the usual pains of moving to a new school with a high-stakes battle to protect their family legacy from a dark, ancient threat. THE PROS This is a great series for anyone who loves "dark fantasy" that feels a bit more accessible. It hits a 7 because the concept of the keys is amazing—each one is a total highlight and brings a lot of creativity to the screen. The "Head Key" sequences, where the characters literally walk inside their own memories and emotions, are visually stunning and handled with an honest, imaginative touch. Jackson Robert Scott is fantastic as the youngest brother, Bode; his wonder and curiosity drive the early episodes and keep the story feeling grounded. It’s a smart adaptation that captures the "haunted house" vibe while adding a modern, magical twist that keeps you hooked. THE CONS It stays at a 7 because the show tones down a lot of the gritty, visceral horror from the original comics, making it feel a bit more like a "young adult" adventure than a true horror story. It misses a higher mark because some of the teenagers’ decisions are an honest head-scratcher, especially when they leave powerful keys lying around for the villains to find. The pacing can feel like a bit of a slog in the middle of the second and third seasons as the plot gets bogged down in high school romance subplots that don't have much to do with the main mystery. While the production is high-quality, the final season feels a bit rushed, leaving some of the bigger lore questions unanswered. THE VERDICT 7/10. A fun, imaginative, and visually impressive magical mystery. It’s amazing for families or fans of *Harry Potter* and *Stranger Things* who want a story that’s more about wonder than pure terror. INSOMNIAC TRIVIA • The "Head Key" was originally supposed to look like a normal key, but the production designers changed it to look like a small human head to make the act of "unlocking your mind" feel more physical and slightly creepy.• To keep the look of Keyhouse consistent, the production built a massive, two-story version of the mansion’s interior on a soundstage in Toronto, including the grand staircase and the intricate "Mending Cabinet."• Joe Hill, who wrote the original comic books, is actually the son of Stephen King; you can see his dad’s influence in the way the show blends small-town life with supernatural horror. THE VIBE Like finding a hidden room in an old library. It smells of dust, old iron, and the metallic tang of a heavy brass key.
